Sail by catamaran to the iconic Saona Island: pristine beaches, snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, and a typical Dominican lunch on the beach. Ideal for families and those seeking a relaxing Caribbean day with organized and safe service. Embark on the Caribbean’s most famous island. Enjoy a speedboat ride to the natural pools where you can see starfish, then relax on white-sand beaches, enjoy a buffet lunch by the sea, and return by catamaran with music and entertainment.

Saona Island is a tropical island and nature reserve in the Dominican Republic, protected within Cotubanamá National Park, known for its white sand beaches, mangroves, and rich marine life. It is a popular tourist destination, especially for day trips, and offers beaches like Catuano and Mano Juan, activities such as snorkeling and diving, and a populated fishing village. Location and Area: It is located at the southeastern tip of La Altagracia province, about 2.4 km off the coast. It covers an area of 110 km² and is part of Cotubanamá National Park. Nature and Ecology: It is a protected area with mangroves, coral reefs, and white sand beaches. It is home to a wide variety of fauna, including turtles, exotic birds, dolphins, and manatees, as well as abundant fish such as lobsters and queen conch. Population and Settlements: The only two permanent settlements are the fishing village of Mano Juan and the naval base at Catuano. Mano Juan is the only inhabited town, where you can find shops, restaurants, and lodging. Tourist Activities: Beaches: Catuano, Playa Bonita, Saona Beach, Playa del Gato, Playa Flamenco, and Playa Canto de la Playa are some of the popular beaches. Water Activities: Snorkeling, diving, and swimming in the “natural pools” with starfish. Other Activities: Birdwatching, beach volleyball, hiking, or simply relaxing. Climate: The climate is tropical, with an average annual temperature of around 25°C. The rainiest months are September and October, and the official hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30.
